Something from the Past

For her informal April wedding, Rosemary wanted a gown reminiscent of the one worn by Carolyn Bissette to John F. Kennedy, Jr.

Rosemary chose a romantic heavy silk charmeuse accented with crystal beaded trim that outlined the neckline and back of her wonderful halter top gown.

Instead of the usual bias cut that we normally reserve for a dress of this type, we opted instead for a straight cut thereby eliminating any tell-tale evidence of underpinning outlines.

We loved the final effect.  The images here show the gown both before and after it was finished and ready for the bride's big day.

Another Fantasy Gown in Progress

Here's a peek at a wonderfully romantic wedding gown currently in progress in our workshop.

It features the rouched bodice with a bottom flair using silk-satin faced organza ruffles and hand-rolled roses.

We'll keep you updated on the finished product.

Stay tuned.

New for 2013

Here's our latest fantasy gown.

It's made up of an ivory lace over a white satin bodice.

The circle skirt [full circle shown in bottom photo] covers the entire top of a work table.  It's covered with about 200 tightly rufled strips interspersed with organza roses.

Clock on the image to see enlargement and detail.

Wonderful Day

Our beautiful niece Anna Rose made her First Holy Communion on Sunday May 5th.

Of course, her Aunt Bonnie made her a dress that she'll be able to pass on to her daughters and granddaughters.
There was another little girl that day who wore a dress that was 75 years old.  I'm sure it contained many happy memories in the past.  We hope that Anna's dress can enjoy as many First Communion celebrations.
